Really excited to be taking part in this blog hop today! Thank you SO MUCH to everyone who took the time to vote for my card in Kylie's January Highlights Gallery. I squeezed into the Top 10 by the skin of my teeth.

For those of you who are not familiar, Kylie Bertucci is a hard working, successful demonstrator from Australia. Every month she hosts a blog highlights challenge and demonstrator artists from around the world are able to enter a project in her gallery for people worldwide to vote on. The TOP 10 entries then get to participate in a blog hop with Kylie later that month.

My project for this TOP 10 Blog Hop is a colourful embossed thank you card I created using Stampin' Up!'s shimmery white embossing paste, pigment sprinkles and stencil. This was a fun background to play with and it took me a couple tries to get the look I wanted. My disaster of a first try was featured on my instastory on Instagram ...follow me there if you don't already.

And here is my finished card!

colourful embossed thank you card

There so much shimmer and shine in this card, the pictures don't do it justice.

How To:

Tape stencil mask over card stock background

Apply thin layer of shimmery white embossing paste with spatula

Sprinkle pigment sprinkles over top of paste and mask in diagonal sections.

Spritz with rubbing alcohol until pigment sprinkles have all dissolved. DO NOT USE WATER as the pigment will bleed underneath the stencil.

Remove the stencil mask.

Dry embossing paste with heat tool

**DO NOT dry before removing the stencil or the embossing paste will permanently adhere to your stencil mask (ask me how I know...)

Once dry, use a thin brush and working in sections according to colour paint over and in between stencils with thin coats of shimmery frost white ink. Be sure to clean off brush between colour sections.

Allow to dry.

Die cut vellum heart (from dies and place on card front

Heat emboss sentiment (from Tropical Chic) in white

Lastly, adhere sentiment to card front and vellum heart with Tombow multipurpose liquid glue.
