Today's Pocket Letter Folder project is one I have been sitting on for a while. Although if you follow my YouTube channel you will have already have sneaked a peek at it.

I had started regularly participating in crafting swaps as they challenge me to learn new skills and expand my expertise (currently on a break due to time restraints but hoping to get back into things after our upcoming move - more on that later).

A few months ago I participated in a Pocket Letter swap with a tropical/beach theme.

I decided I wanted to create a folder to hold my pocket letter and extra items I wanted to send along to my swap partner.

Here is a video of the finished pocket letter and folder.

I haven't quite perfected my on camera screen space so you may want to check out the pictures here too.

The front of my pocket letter folder featuring Stampin' Up!'s Tropical Chic Suite and Lined Alphabet dies. I used Stampin' Blends to colour in the "hello"

The dimensions for my pocket letter folder are as follows:

Outside Folder Dimensions

Blushing Bride Pink Base: 10.5" x 9.5". Long side scored at 4.75" and 5.75"

Granny Apple Green 2nd Layer: 9" x 4.25 inches (repeat for back of folder if desired)

White 3rd Layer: 8.5" x 3.75"

DSP Layer: 3" x 7.75"

Inside Pockets Dimensions

You will have to watch the video to see the inside folders as I forgot to take pictures.

Top background DSP: 3.5" x 4.75"

Top Pockets: Two pieces of 3" x 4.75" DSP scored at .5" on 3 sides. Fourth side can be punched with 1/2" circle punch to create reverse tab. Adher to top of folder so that pocket opening are facing inwards and sideways.

Flap Cover: DSP cut to 4.5" x 6" with cardstock hinge 3 x 1", folded in half and ends cut on diagonal.

Bottom pocket: 3.5" x 5" DSP scored at .5" on side and bottom AND 6" x 3.5" DSP scored @ .5" on bottom. Slide longer piece into first piece and adhere to bottom of folder.

Pocket Letter

My folder and the first row of my pocket letter feature Stampin' Up! Tropical Chic suite (stamps, dies and designer series paper)

The butterflies are from the Butterfly Gala bundle (stamps and punch). I sponged the ink on with sponge daubers

On the second row of the pocket letter I used shimmery embossing paste mixed with 1 drop of Sahara Sand and I drop of So Saffron to make beach sand.

The tropical drinks are from a retired set (Mixed Drinks). After stamping i used the fine tip glue pen to make "glass"

The sand dollars in the middle pocket were die cut from Sahara Sand card stock then sponged with Sahara Sand ink and champagne frost shimmery ink. They are from the Sea of Textures bundle as is most of the bottom under the sea row of my pocket letter.

The treasure chest I made using some of the wood textures paper and the everyday label punch. The coins are gold and copper foil embossed with the Subtle embossing folder then hole punched.

The octopus is heat embossed in white and then coloured in Lovely Lipstick Stampin' Blends. I used a paper towel to wipe/dab off excess ink.

The mermaid is from a retired set but Stampin' Up! has a newer (and nicer IMO) mermaid in the starfish wishes set.

I hope you enjoyed this pocket letter folder post. Please comment below or message me if you have questions about supplies. Products can be purchased through my online store (while supplies last).

Happy Stamping!
