Hi Friends!

Today's Make a Card Monday "Wild About You" card was inspired by my eldest niece. Her mothers had made this art piece for her room before she was born and as soon as I saw Stampin' Up!'s Animal Outing stamp set and dies I knew I wanted to re-invent it as a birthday card for her 2nd birthday.

The quick and easy version of the Wild About You card uses only the Animal Outing stamp set, a granny apple green cardstock base with a 4 x 5.25 piece of Animal Expedition DSP, 3.75 x 5 piece of Whisper White cardstock, and various colours of ink.

I also added a wooden embellishment and coloured it with a Granny Apple Green Stampin' Write Marker.

For the intermediate version of the Wild About You card I stamped the whisper white background with the hardwood background stamp. I used the Animal Outing bundle dies only for the giraffes and flipped them as per the original artwork.

I also unwound and added a boxwood wreath embellishment, then stamped and punched out the Wild About You sentiment using the everyday label punch.

For the experienced and embellished version of the Wild About You card I pulled out some tricks to get the look I wanted.

wild about you

For the giraffes I started off with shimmery white cardstock and stamped the giraffes in versamark.

Did you know that you can reverse stamp and emboss with versamark?!!

To get the mirror image giraffes, I stamped with versamark onto my silicon craft sheet then flipped the craft sheet onto my card stock and rubbed firmly. Then I added embossing powder and heat to heat emboss. The versamark imprint is fainter but the powder still stuck as usual!

After heat embossing I used watercolour pencils and an aqua painter to add colour to my giraffes.

To die cut the giraffes I got creative amd held the reversed images up to the light and used washi tape to adhere the die on the back of the cardstock and die cut upside down.

The white background is dry embossed using the Pinewood Planks embossing folder. The giraffes are popped up using dimensionals.

The sentiment was stamped 3 times. Once in Pumpkin Pie, once in Memento and once in versamark and heat embossed in copper. The coordinating words were then fussy cut. The leaves were die cut with Granny Apple Green cardstock and I added burlap trim and copper metallic thread.

This card was a challenge but I love the way it turned out!
