Hi Friends!

Today's Make A Card Monday features Stampin' Up's Rooted in Nature bundle (yes it is my favourite suite in the catalogue). The suite features beautiful stamps and co-coordinating dies.  I made this "words are never enough" card for my mother for mother's day. You could use this card for a multitude of different occasions and switch up the inside sentiment. The card also uses the Nature's Poem Designer Series Paper. All of the sheets in this set are gorgeous!

The white background was embossed using the Layered Leaves textured impressions embossing folder and the pink trim was punched out using the decorative ribbon border punch. The front sentiment was die cut using a die from the Bunch of Banners framelits set.

I used some retired satin tranquil tide ribbon, but the 3/8 mini ruffled tranquil tide ribbon would be a perfect substitute.

The inside of the card reads: " to thank you for all  you do". I also added Happy Mother's Day.

Hi Friends!

Today's Watercolour Wednesday project is a Sending Smiles Across the Miles any occasion card. It features Stampin' Up's Lift Me Up stamp set and co-coordinating Up & Away dies.

The watercolour technique on this card uses Stampin' Write markers and a large acrylic block.

I have been playing with watercolour techniques for a while and the markers are quickly becoming my go to to for watercolouring (followed closely by Stampin' Ups watercolour pencils).

To achieve the watercolour wash sunset I coloured horizontal chunks of colour on the large E block then LIGHTLY spritzed water on to the block with a Stampin' spritzer. You need to be careful to not spritz it too much or you will end up with a runny mess on the paper.

After spritzing flip the block and press onto watercolour paper. Use an aqua painter to further spread and blend colours to achieve a vibrant wash effect.

Let air dry or use a heat tool.

The balloon image and sending smiles sentiment are then stamped using stazon black ink. I went over some of the balloon and "smiles" with the wink of stella glitter brush and added rhinestones to give it extra sparkle.

The diamond patterns were cut out using a die from the Eclectic Layers set and the clouds are silver foil, cut with dies from the Up & Away set.  The background paper is from the Tropical Escape designer series paper stack.
