Today’s project is a custom address book. It was inspired my desire to stay in touch with my friends and family using something other than Facebook. I realized that although I knew how to get to most of their homes, I had no idea what their actual addresses were! This makes it hard to send handmade cards in the mail! I decided to purchase an address book in order to keep track of all their info, but I didn’t like any of the plain black and blue – blah books I was seeing. I happened along this notebook in the dollar store and loved it!
Then I got to thinking about how to make this into a functional custom address book. Stampin’ Up! to the rescue again! I pulled out my Tabs for Everything Bundle, Brushwork Alphabet stamp set, 3/4″ Circle punch and gold embossing powder and got to work!
The 3/4″ circle punch was perfect for punching holes in the pages of my notebook so that I could see through to the a-z lettering. I used the circle tab punch to cut out the cardstock bases and cut each set in half. I chose cardstock colours that matched the cover of my notebook. Obviously, if you are doing your own version, use whichever colour cardstock and ink you would like.
I then stamped the scalloped circle with matching ink on white cardstock and stamped the letter in versamark prior to gold embossing and punching them out with the 3/4″ punch. Then I affixed each circle to the cardstock with the liquid multipurpose glue.
Here are the finished tabs:
I used the fast fuse adhesive to adhere each tab to the page. The notebook had enough pages to allow for 3 pages per letter. There are four full column sets through the notebook a-g,h-m,n-s,t-y and z.
I’m looking forward to getting this book filled up with addresses so that it will be so much easier to #makeacardSENDacard!
