Today’s post is exciting to me! I got to work on the base for my advent calendar and have finally begun the process of assembling it! As such I will be switching around the order of the posts a bit to reflect the order in which the days will be added to the “tree” from base to top. The Twelfth Day of Christmas window box is the last box in the bottom row.
The Twelfth Day of Christmas window box features a simple design using burlap trim, pear pizzazz shimmer ribbon, and rhinestone basic embellishments.
With box number twelve complete I am now able to start assembling my advent calendar on the base. I made the base for this calendar using 3 Paper Pumpkin boxes and one piece of 12 x 12 Chipboard from a Memories and More Page Pack.
Each box is wrapped in a sheet of 12 x 12 Merry Music DSP. I used a glue gun to hot glue all three together. The chipboard I cut in half and hot glued both pieces to the bottom of the wrapped boxes to help provide stability across the joints.
The embellishment process for the base began by wrapping the 7/8 stripped ribbon around the entire outside of the boxes and tying it in a big bow. Tying this ribbon tightly also helps to stabilize the 3 box base. I added 4 sprigs to the bow and will add another embellishment in the center but am undecided on what.
Here is the base and the first few bottom boxes. I’m getting quite excited to see it all starting to come together now!
Be sure to subscribe to my blog to get updates on how this window box advent calendar is coming along! I will post another product list at the end, once the advent calendar has been completed. I have posted supply lists for previous boxes so please check there in the interim.
