Thankful for You – Stampin’ Up! Handmade Card

Today’s Thankful for You handmade card is one of the cards I taught in my September card club. I think it was by far the favourite of the 3 we did. This card I cased from a Japanese Demonstrator. Her Instagram is fabulous and you should definitely check her out (@leafleaf_cards). I ended up sending this card to a good friend in Vancouver.

This card features the Painted Harvest Stamp set and looks great in variety of colours, so you can make it with whatever colours of ink and cardstock you have on hand. For the background stamping and the inside of the flower I used Sahara Sand. The background stamp is stamped off once before each time stamping on the paper. The flowers and cardstock are Wisteria Wonder. The background layer of the flower is also stamped off once. The middle sentiment is stamped in Early Espresso.

When I was planning to do this card I relazied my linen thread had dissapeared and was no where to be found. I almost panicked then realized I could cut my burlap trim apart and get a simliar effect. Crisis averted!! Although, I would still love to know where my linen thread ended up. It was one of many freebies I got at Onstage Local (Stampin’ Up!’s semi-annual conference).

This Thankful for You card is also a Big Shot less card!

thankful for you

Who would you send this card to?

You’re Delightful – Stampin’ Up! Handmade Card

Hi Stampin’ Friends

Thanks for stopping by! Today’s handmade card features a stampin’ up! stamp from one of the new hostess sets in the catalogue – You’re Delightful! This stamp set can be ordered when placing a $200 + order through my store OR by hosting a workshop (contact me for details). This card was inspired by one of my co-workers who will be leaving for a new job. Sadly, I did not have a “I will miss you” stamp so I chose this one instead and wrote more on the inside of the card. This card also features the delightful daisy designer series paper and some pearls, doilies and ribbon for that feminine touch! Navy blue is one of her favourite colours so this paper worker perfectly!

Coffee Helps

Hi friends!

Today’s post (inspired by my dependence on caffeine)is my first attempt at a z-fold card! They are actually quite simple to do and not as complicated as I had thought! They do require a couple extra pieces of cardstock and Designer Series Paper and a few extra seconds of cutting but it is well worth the extra time and supplies. The base cardstock is the same dimensions as a typical top fold portrait base 11′ x 4.25″. after folding it in half you simply fold the top back in half over itself. You will need 3 pieces of DSP – 1 piece 5.25″ x 4″ and 2 pieces 2.5 x 4″. For this card you will also need a piece of coloured cardstock cut 4.25″ x 3″ and 2 pieces of white cardstock cut 4″ x 2.75″. This card features the energizing Coffee Break Suite. This was my first play with this set and I am looking forward to designing more cards and gift packaging with it!

I’m leaving for the long weekend to go up north with the family so there will be no posts until next Tuesday. See you then!

Happy Stamping!
