Magnolia Lane Folio Album & Birthday Card

Magnolia Lane Folio Album

Hi! How is it February already?! January just seemed to fly by. I don't know about you but I am hoping spring is around the corner! February is a busy month in our family for birthdays, throw in Valentine's on top of that and it makes for a busy card making season. Fortunately I have been able to get most of what I need to have made finished in January.

Today's project...actually projects, are a folio album and coordinating birthday card which I made for one of my childhood friends. Her birthday was Sunday, she lives in Vancouver, so I had planned to mail these to her but it turned out that she ended up coming out this way the week before her birthday so we were able to celebrate in person!

It also just so happened that this week's inspire.create challenge is...

...an open one! You have a carte blanche, so I am challenging you to make something other than a card!

My folio album and card feature Stampin' Up!'s Magnolia Lane suite and coordinating Memories & More Card Pack. These products made making this beautiful album SO incredibly easy.

If you are curious as to how I made the folio, I followed along with a YouTube video from Antika's Craft Corner

I made some tweaks to my album to add extra room to the pockets. Here is my flip through video

A quick photo walk through of the folio album..

This is the first folio album I have made, and was really happy it turned out as well as it did. I still have some tweaks to make, but I am hopeful that by the next one I will be satisfied enough with it to put a full tutorial up with measurements of my updates.

And here is the coordinating Magnolia Lane Birthday card.

On the folio album cover I opted to fussy cut out vellum flowers and colour them using Stampin' Blends. On the card front I skipped the colouring and fussy cut the flowers from the Designer Series Paper. Two different ways to get a similar look!
